- Black Jack by Osamu Tezuka. Classic Japanese manga about a mercenary doctor who takes on “impossible” cases. The creator actually went to medical school before becoming the godfather of Japanese comics (Astro Boy). The overview of concepts and medical illustrations are great — while being a nail-biting read.
- Cells at Work! by Akane Shimizu. A manga (and anime) following the adventures of an erythrocyte and neutrophil in human form. Covers many diverse topics!
